Warrington Wolves have announced centre Anthony Gelling has left the club by mutual consent.
Gelling had one year left on his current deal, but both parties have agreed to cancel the remainder of his contract.
The Cook Island international signed from Cheshire rivals Widnes Vikings ahead of the 2020 season. He has also played for Wigan Warriors and New Zealand Warriors in the NRL.
During his time at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Gelling made 13 appearances, scoring six tries.
In February, he was arrested following an altercation with his partner at their home in Widnes. He was temporarily stood down, before returning ahead of their game with Hull FC, which proved to be their last before lockdown.
He has since been charged with causing Grievous Bodily Harm, and is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court in May 2021.
In a short statement, the club said: “The club would like to thank Anthony for his efforts during his time at the Wire and wish him well in the next chapter of his career.”
