Warrington Wolves and Hull KR have announced a swap deal which sees forwards Robbie Mulhern and Luis Johnson swap clubs.
Johnson spent part of 2019 on loan at the Robins, where he made four appearances. In his first spell, he earned plaudits for his attitude.
He made six appearances for the Wire in 2020.
Upon signing Johnson, Robins Head Coach Smith said: โLuis had a brief time with us before and he showed plenty of promise there. Heโs got great potential and heโs looking for the opportunity for some game time.
โHe can play anywhere in the pack, thatโs part of the appeal for us. He can develop into a good middle player and he can also play on the edge. Heโs going to strengthen us and give us more options and more depth.
โHe can bust the line and also do some of the hard graft. Weโre looking forward to him developing into that kind of player. I think a lot of people have recognised him in the game for becoming that kind of talent.”
Mulhern is a Leeds academy graduate, and joined the Robins in 2016, making 111 appearances. The Wire fought off several Super League and NRL clubs for his signature.
He added: “Warrington is a massive club and Iโm really happy and privileged to be able to join. Iโm really looking forward to meeting all the lads and getting started.
โI feel like Iโm coming into my prime years now and Iโve got a lot to offer. Chris Hill and Mike Cooper are two of the best forwards in the game so to spend time around them and learn from them is going to be great for my continued development.”
