Swinton add Kiwi Doyle

Swinton Lions have confirmed the signing of New Zealand Maori international Geronimo Doyle for the 2021 season.

The Kiwi, who will turn 24 in January, also has extensive experience playing representative rugby league in his own country, including appearances for the New Zealand Maori residentsโ€™ team.

Upon signing for the Lions,ย Doyleย said: โ€œIโ€™m really excited to be joining Swinton Lions for the 2021 season.

โ€œIโ€™ve heard a lot about the clubโ€™s strong tradition and history in the sport. Iโ€™ve also heard about the teamโ€™s loyal supporters, and I canโ€™t wait to meet the entire Lions family.

โ€œThe Lions have remained busy throughout Covid and have been building towards the new season, and I hope my addition to the squad will assist in taking the team forward.โ€

Head Coach Stuart Littler added, โ€œWe are delighted to have been able to secure Geronimoโ€™s signature after competing with other Championship clubs to get this deal done.

โ€œHe is certainly an exciting talent and he is someone who I feel can add real value to our squad and substantially increase competition for places.

โ€œGeronimo can cover a whole host of positions in the backs and he tells me he is really excited by the potential and future we can offer.
