Wakefield Trinity forward Jay Pitts has signed a new contract at the Club which will keep him in the Red, White & Blue until at least the end of 2022.
The back-rower was a consistent performer for Trinity in 2020 and in the absence of Jacob Miller on occasion, Pitts was given the opportunity to captain the team.
Reacting to the news, Jay Pitts said: “I’m over the moon and really happy to get it sorted.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first year, despite all the difficulties in the year. It was a no-brainer for me to extend really.
“2020 was a frustrating season, with all the stopping and starting, plus all the self-isolating I had to do, but I’m just ready to kick on now and get going.”
Head Coach, Chris Chester, added: “I’m really pleased Pittsy is here for another few years.
“He has been really consistent for us since joining last season and it was a no-brainer for all parties to extend his deal.
“Pittsy is a quality player, a really good professional and a leader, which is why we’re all delighted he’s here for the next couple of years.”
