Huddersfield Giants have signed 23-year-old full-back Olly Ashall-Bott on a ten month deal.
The former Widnes Vikings player had spent time at North Wales Crusaders on loan and London Broncos, and most recently joined up with Giants Head Coach Ian Watson at Salford Red Devils.
He was due to play for Ottawa Aces in 2021, but the Canadian side chose to defer their entry into League 1 until 2022.
Ashall-Bott is expected to join up with the squad when the Giants are cleared to resume training, which is hoped to be later this week.
He will come in for Ashton Golding, who has been ruled out until May with a shoulder injury.
Watson said: “Oliver has shown massive potential over the last few years but has had a tough run of injuries to deal with.
“Oliver came to join Salford on trial last year lacking game time and fitness and he proved all the work he had done in rehab at London had put him in a great position physically and his performances against Warrington and Hull KR didn’t disappoint.”
