Catalans Dragons Head Coach Steve McNamara has confirmed Dean Whare will arrive in France today (Sunday) and begin his quarantine.
Whare signed for the club from Penrith Panthers ahead of the 2021 season, but was absent when the Dragons were cleared to return to training.
However, McNamara confirmed he will join up with the squad once his quarantine period expires after seven days.
Speaking after Catalans friendly win, he said: “Dean Whare will be in the country tomorrow (Sunday). Once he arrives he will have to undergo a week’s quarantine, in line with the French government.
“He will miss next week’s training, he wont feature against Toulouse, but he will join up with the squad after that.
“From the conversations I have had with him, he cant wait to get over here and get stuck in. I wish he could have come over sooner, but it is just the way the world is at the moment.”
