St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf has praised his overseas players, saying they had no problems coming over despite the situation with coronavirus in the UK.
Australians now live with next to no restrictions, whilst in the UK, the country has been back in a full lockdown since 4th January.
Speaking about his players, Woolf said: “The Australian players had no hesitancy about coming over at all. They deserve a lot of praise, for coming over at a difficult time, and bringing their families over.
“I know if COVID was around when I was making my decision, it wouldn’t have affected my decision, but it certainly would have entered my mind, looking at every possible outcome, and whether or not it was safe.
“Particularly when you are sitting in Australia and New Zealand with no cases and no restrictions, and they are practically living a normal life.
“They have been terrific since they have come over.”
