Leigh Centurions have announced the loan signings of St Helens pair Josh Eaves and Matty Foster along with Nathan Roebuck and Tom Burnett from Warrington Wolves.
All will be available for Leigh’s final pre-season warm-up game of the season when they take on Warrington Wolves on Friday evening, a game which doubles as a Testimonial for Chris Hill.
Eaves is no stranger to Leigh having played for the Club on loan in 2019 where he scored four tries in eight appearances. He has also played at Whitehaven on loan.
A product of the Blackbrook amateur club, Matty Foster progressed through the Saints scholarship and represented England at under 16s level and also Lancashire Academy.
A 21-year-old outside-back, Roebuck joined Warrington’s Academy in 2018 and made a try-scoring first-team debut against Salford last September. He originally started his league pathway with the famous Saddleworth Rangers Club.
Leigh Centurions Head Coach John Duffy said: “We are continually looking for players to add to our squad and we have an excellent relationship with Saints and their CEO Mike Rush and head coach Kristian Woolf.
“Josh has played for us before and we know all about him and what he will bring to the club. We have been watching Matty towards the end of last season and start of this. They are two good, young, keen Super League players who will add youthfulness and enthusiasm and push for places in the team and bring out the best in others.”
“I watched Nathan last year in a very youthful Warrington team that played Salford. Keanan Brand also played in that game. Nathan made 17 carries and impressed as a big, powerful unit who will benefit from the experience he will get with us.”
