Batley Bulldogs earned themselves a trip to either Featherstone Rovers or Bradford Bulls after a 19-6 win over Halifax Panthers at The Shay.

It was an extremely tight first half, with both sides vying for field position. It was the Bulldogs who took the lead after Dale Morton slotted home a penalty.

Nine minutes into the second half, it got even better for Batley as Kieran Buchanan rose highest from a kick and offloaded to Jodie Broughton, who scored. Morton hit the post with the conversion attempt.

However, just three minutes later, the Panthers hit back with their first competitive try since their re brand. Matt Garside took in a flick from Nick Rawsthorne and powered over. Connor Robinson scored the conversion to half the deficit.

The Panthers huffed and puffed, but the Bulldogs defence stood firm. They were rewarded with 13 minutes to go as Ben Kaye went out of dummy half and scored. Morton hit the conversion to give them their 12-point lead back.

The game was in the bag when Ben White slotted home a drop-goal for the visitors.
