Chester confirms two absentees for Saints match

Wakefield Trinity Head Coach Chris Chester has confirmed Max Jowitt and Tom Johnstone will miss their match against St Helens after failing head injury assessments.

Both were taken off during their Challenge Cup defeat against Catalans Dragons. Chester also confirmed they will assess Josh Wood, who was taken off with an elbow injury.

He said: “Johnstone wasn’t in a great shape at half-time. It will definitely rule him out for next week. We’ve done without him before, and its important now that the guys put their hands up and have a really good week in training.

“Josh Wood will go for a scan on an elbow injury. Max also went off with head knock, he will also be out next week.

“The lads are hurting in there today, we are doing it tough. But I thought the effort was good and there wasn’t a lot between the two sides.”
