Warrington Wolves booked their place in the Quarter Finals of the Challenge Cup after a 32-8 victory over Swinton Lions at Heywood Road.

The Super League side hit the front after just six minutes as Toby King took in a pass from Stefan Ratchford and got in on the left-hand side. Ratchford then hit the post with the conversion attempt.

Swinton hit back not long after, as they spread the ball well, and Luis Roberts scored in the corner. Martyn Ridyard converted to put the Championship side ahead by two points.

Ridyard added a penalty three minutes later after Warrington were caught offside.

Just before the half-hour, Warrington got themselves level, as Tom Lineham took in a cutout pass from Ben Currie and went over in space in the corner. Ratchford was again off-target with the conversion.

Four minutes later, the Super League side retook the lead, as King proved too strong for the defence and went over for his second. Ratchford converted to give them a six-point lead.

There was time for one more from Warrington before the break, as Blake Austin found space down the left-hand side and went over himself. Ratchford scored the conversion to give them a 12-point advantage at the break.

With 13 minutes to go, former Swinton Lion Matty Ashton got on the scoresheet. Lineham did well to offload in the tackle for King, who had Ashton supporting him on his outside to score. Ratchford was again on target with the conversion.

Warrington rounded off the match with another try, as Danny Walker ran across the line, and found a gap to score. Ratchford hit the conversion.

Both sides return to league action next Sunday. Swinton Lions welcome Featherstone Rovers to Heywood Road, while Warrington make the trip to Hull FC.
