Tetevano ban revealed and Flanagan’s ban stands

Leeds Rhinos’ Zane Tetevano has been banned for four matches for a late hit on St Helens’ Theo Fages during last Saturday’s Challenge Cup Third Round tie at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The New Zealand international faced a suspension of up to five games, after Monday’s Match Review Panel decided that the challenge was a Grade D offence.

Tetevano pleaded guilty but challenged the grading. But the Operational Rules Tribunal reaffirmed the review panel’s decision.

Tetevano has also been fined £500.

Also, a tribunal dismissed an appeal by Bradford Bulls’ forward George Flanagan who was last week suspended for 10 matches and fined £250 after being found guilty of attacking an opponent’s testicles during the Bulls’ Challenge Cup Second Round tie with Featherstone Rovers.

The decision stands.
