York City Knights have announced the loan signing of Lewis Peachey from Castleford Tigers on a two-week loan deal.

Forward Peachey made his Super League debut for Castleford in 2019 against Catalans Dragons and, to date, have made six appearances in the top-flight for the West Yorkshire club and is a Castleford academy graduate.

Reacting to the news, Peachey said: “York are a really good club with great facilities and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“I’m hoping to get some more experience. I’ve played limited minutes at first team level for Castleford and I’m keen to get some more under my belt.”

Head Coach James Ford added: “Lewis is an uncompromising player who carries intensity in his contact. I remember him from my time with England academy and I remember good kid who had some promise.

“I’m pleased to be in a position to have a closer look at him.”
