Oldham secured their second win of the season after a 16-12 win over Halifax Panthers at Bower Fold.
After an even opening, it was Halifax who opened the scoring. Conor McGrath managed to get over on 19 minutes for the Panthers. Connor Robinson kicked the conversion to open up a six-point lead.
Just four minutes later, Oldham hit back as Tommy Brierley was able to finish in the corner. Callum Green missed the conversion, meaning they still trailed by two points.
The Panthers struck again just before the break. This time, James Woodburn-Hall finished off a good break from Ben Kavanagh to score. Robinson scored the conversion to open up an eight-point lead at the break.
Oldham hit back five minutes into the second half, as former Fax forward Martyn Reilly managed to break the line and get over. Callum Green scored the conversion to leave just two points in the contest.
With just four minutes to go, Oldham hit the front for the first time. On-loan centre Jack Croft powered his way over to score. Green kicked the conversion to put the Roughyeds ahead by four, which is the way it stayed.
Both sides return to action next week. Oldham welcome Whitehaven next Saturday, while Halifax travel to Dewsbury Rams next Sunday.
