Price on Catalans and his own Challenge Cup record

Warrington Wolves Head Coach Steve Price has said he is wary of Catalans Dragons and the threats they pose, having played them just a few weeks ago.

The two sides will take to the pitch at Headingley, with a spot in the Challenge Cup Semi-Finals up for grabs. Just two weeks ago, Warrington won 24-8 in Perpignan to end Catalans’ unbeaten start.

On the Dragons, Price said: “They’re a quality team, as we are to. It makes for an exciting challenge.

“They have a quality forward pack and two exciting halves who have been around for a while.

“It makes for an exciting game. We are up for the challenge because we need to be better too.”

At Warrington, Price boasts a decent Challenge Cup records, with reaching two finals and another semi-final, which they lost by just two points.

However, Price was not keen to look too closely at that, adding: “What’s happened in the past has happened. We are a new team, new personnel and a new style.

“It’s more about the process now, and that is Friday night. The preparation is vital and carrying out that 80 minute performance.”
