Halifax Panthers have returned to winning ways after an impressive 36-0 win over Dewsbury Rams at the Tetley’s Stadium.
The Panthers took the lead after 12 minutes. Ed Barber went through a gap down the right hand side and scored. Connor Robinson scored the conversion for a six-point lead.
Just past the 20 minute mark, Halifax extended their lead thanks to the boot of Robinson. He scored a penalty after Dewsbury were punished for a high tackle.
Robinson added two more 10 minutes later. This time, the Rams were called for a dangerous tackle on Sam Hewitt.
Soon after, Halifax grabbed their second try. Barber took in a short ball and went over for his second of the afternoon. Robinson scored the conversion for a 16-point lead going into the break.
Just five minutes into the second half, the Panthers extended their lead. Brandon Moore completed a fast break by scoring under the posts. Robinson scored the conversion.
Just before the hour, Halifax grabbed another try. This time, Liam Harris found Greg Worthington with a cutout pass, who went over to score. Robinson added the conversion.
Halifax scored their fifth and final try with 15 minutes to go. Adam Tangata put Elliot Morris over for the try. Robinson added the conversion.
Robinson kept up his perfect record with the boot by adding two more before the end. This time, Jacob Fairbank was on the receiving end of a dangerous tackle.
Both sides return to action next week. Dewsbury travel to Swinton Lions next Monday, while Halifax welcome Sheffield Eagles on Sunday.
