York City Knights have announced the signing of young half-back Mikey Lewis on an initial one-month loan deal from Hull KR.
The 19-year-old is one of the most highly-regarded youngsters in the British game and started KR’s first three matches of the season, scoring two tries.
The deal includes a two-week recall period.
He could make his debut on Sunday as York travel to Widnes Vikings, looking to bounce back after defeat at Featherstone Rovers last Sunday.
Reacting to the news, Head Coach James Ford said: “Mikey is a talented young half, hooker or fullback who has a good level of competitiveness about him. If Mikey is willing to work hard at areas of his game, I can see him becoming a very good fullback or half in the future.”
