Wigan edge Salford to remain unbeaten

Wigan Warriors claimed a 17-16 victory over Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

A Harvey Livett try saw the hosts draw first blood. He also added a penalty six minutes later to make it a six-point lead.

Six minutes later, Brad Singleton was able to level the scores for the Warriors.

Salford struck again through Jack Wells before Liam Farrell gave Wigan a lifeline before the break. Livett added another penalty to put the Red Devils ahead by four points going into half-time.

Livett kicked another penalty just before the hour to stretch Salford’s lead out to a converted try.

Singleton scored again just a few minutes later to level the scores.

With two minutes left, it was former Red Devil Jackson Hastings who delivered the vital blow and deliver a seventh straight win for Wigan.
