Warrington Wolves Head Coach Steve Price has played down initial reports linking his assistant Andrew Henderson to the vacant position at Leigh Centurions.
The Centurions parted company with John Duffy on Wednesday, and Henderson has been an early name linked with the vacancy.
Price said there had been no discussion between him and Henderson over the rumours.
He said: “I’ve only just been made aware of that speculation. Me and Hendo have a good relationship. If that was the case, then I am sure he would have spoken to me about that.”
“Hendo is a quality, young and upcoming coach. If the opportunity arose, I am confident he would do a sound job. He is very thorough in his coaching, and he is ready to go.
“But he has not spoken to me about that.”
