Keighley Cougars made sure they consolidated fourth place after a 70-12 victory over West Wales Raiders at Cougar Park.

Keighley got themselves into a great position in the first half. Tries from Jake Webster, Dan Parker, Taylor Prell, Jack Slingsby and Quentin Laulu-Togagae had the Cougars 30-0 up after just over half-an-hour.

Tries from Jamie Murphy and Sam Herron either side of half-time threw the Raiders a lifeline.

However, that did not last long, as Parker grabbed two more to complete his hat-trick, and Prell grabbed his second before the game’s main flashpoint.

Keighley’s Kieran Moran and West Wales’ Ewan Badham clashed, and the resulting melee saw Badham sent off for throwing punches, and Moran was sent to the sin bin for his part in the scrap.

After that, Keighley ran in four more tries. Miller and Laulu-Togagae grabbed their second tries, while Aarony Levy and Spencer Darley also got in on the act.

It’s a result that keeps Keighley in fourth place this week, after Hunslet temporarily replaced them after their win at London Skolars yesterday. WQest Wales remian rooted to the bottom.
