St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf has confirmed Mark Percival would not be fit for the mid season test between England and the Combined Nations All Stars.
Percival has been out since picking up a hamstring injury during their Super League win over Hull FC. However, Woolf expects a number of his players to be involved.
He said: “We are expecting to get a fairly high number in the England team. Mark Percival will not be available, but outside that, we hope to have four or five players playing for England.
“It is only a minor injury. If it wasn’t for him and his history, then he probably would be back playing right now. It is only the fact we want to be cautious.
“The information we are getting from the surgery he had, it is common to see implications in other areas. It is important we give it the time, give it the effort in terms of rehab to bulletproof him as much as possible.
“We are going to be cautious, and give it time.”
