Salford Red Devils claimed their second win of the season after a 9-8 win over Huddersfield Giants at the John Smith’s Stadium.

They took the lead after 11 minutes, when Andy Ackers was able to get over. But they were hindered by the red card shown to James Greenwood for a high tackle. However, it seemed as though it should have been Dan Sarginson who was sent off. Aidan Sezer scored the resulting penalty.

Dec Patton then kicked the Red Devils back into a six-point lead just before the break.

Huddersfield struck first in the second half, thanks to Joe Wardle’s try. The resulting conversion from Sezer levelled the game.

But a 64th minute drop-goal from Chris Atkin was enough for the Red Devils to seal the win- their first away from the AJ Bell Stadium this season.
