Newcastle Thunder have recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season after beating Oldham 40-6 at Kingston Park.

Jack Johnson scored the only tries of the first half, but the game and the Thunder came alive in the second half.

Tries from Ukuma Ta’ai, Sam Halsall, Bob Beswick and Jake Shorrocks saw Newcastle take control in a 10-minute period in the second half.

Liam Kirk got Oldham onto the board, but Josh Woods rounded off the scoring for the Thunder.
