Warrington Wolves have apologised for what it calls “hurtful and derogatory” comments by Head Coach Steve Price.

In his post-match interview with Sky Sports, Price was talking about Ellis Longstaff, and was criticised on social media for his use of language.

The club say he has since apologised, and the matter is being dealt with internally.

The statement read: “The term is wholly unacceptable and its usage has no place in the sport or society.

“Steve has since apologised, expressing his extreme regret and disappointment and corrected his remarks in his post-match press conference.

“The Club will make no further comment and the matter will be dealt with internally.”
