Huddersfield Giants have confirmed Darnell McIntosh will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles.
The Giants winger picked up the injury during their defeat against Hull FC last week. There are rumours he may have played his last game for the club.
Head Coach Ian Watson told the club website: “His Achilles has gone, which is the end of the season for him. He’s been outstanding on the wing this season, so it’s a devastating blow, but we have players who can cover that position.”
The club are also sweating on he fitness of captain Aidan Sezer. The halfback picked up an ankle injury whilst playing for the Combined Nations All Stars last week.
Watson said he will be out for between eight and 10 weeks, but it could also be season ending.
He added: “Aidan is out with an ankle injury and it depends what the next steps are: if he tries to rehab the injury or if he goes to see a specialist and has an operation. That’s a decision for Aidan to think about, but he’ll be a minimum 8-10 weeks. That’s a bad blow.”
