Catalans Dragons halfback Josh Drinkwater has signed a new two-year contract to remain at the club.
Drinkwater initially signed for the Dragons in 2018, and was part of the team that beat Warrington Wolves to lift the Challenge Cup at Wembley.
Ahead of the 2019 season, Drinkwater signed for Hull KR, then returned to the Dragons a year later.
In 2021, he has had a good season for the Dragons. He currently leads the Super League try assists chart with 17 to his name so far.
Reacting to the news, he said: “I’ve loved my time here at the Dragons so far and when it came down to it, this the club I want to play for.
“We’ve got a great group of players and staff and I’m really enjoying my game at the moment. I love living in the south of France and the Catalan region and I hope we can bring the first Super League trophy here.”
Head Coach Steve McNamara added: “Josh has been pivotal to our performances this year. His contributions in attack have been outstanding and he has shown a real desire to improve all other parts to his game.
“Josh suits our club and we suit him. I am delighted he has agreed a new two-year deal.”
