Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has said Abbas Miski reminds him of former teammate Brian Carney in the way that he plays.
The Warriors confirmed the signing of Miski from London Broncos on Monday, along with forwards Patrick Mago and Kaide Ellis from the NRL.
Lam said: “I’ve watched Miski in the World Cup in Australia when he played for Lebanon. I’ve been aware of his progress over here in the Championship.
“He reminds a bit of Brian Carney. He’s got that strength that’s a bit different to everyone else, and he finds it in critical times in matches.
“I think he will be a great addition to the squad moving forward.”
Miski has been playing outside Chris Hankinson at London, who is on loan from the Warriors.
On Hankinson, Lam added: “He’s been playing some good rugby. He’s a good guy and is very popular with the players here.
“We haven’t had a chance to bring him back. We will continue to monitor him as he moves forward for the rest of the season with London.
“They are struggling a bit there at the moment, but I am sure he is looking forward to helping them get back to winning ways and on a regular basis.”
