Clubs in the Women’s Super League have announced their midseason break has been brought forward and will return as a two-tier competition in August.
They had unanimously agreed to a circuit-breaker, after the amount of games being called off for injuries and isolation was rising.
The top-five teams- Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, Wigan Warriors, York City Knights and Castleford Tigers- will all compete for the trophy.
Meanwhile, the remaining teams- Featherstone Rovers, Huddersfield Giants, Warrington Wolves, Bradford Bulls and Wakefield Trinity- will compete for the Super League Shield.
The finals of both events- The Super League Grand Final and the Super League Shield Final- will take place as a double header at Headingley Stadium.
Fixtures and schedule will be announced in due course.
Also, the Women’s Super League South will be continuing as scheduled.
