Jodie Cunningham, Fran Goldthorp, Rhiannon Marshall, Sinead Peach and Emily Rudge will compete for the 2021 Woman of Steel award.
The award is given to the most outstanding player in the Women’s Super League this season.
Cunningham and Rudge both form part of the St Helens side that are two-thirds of the way towards a treble. They beat York City Knights to win the Challenge Cup, and last week’s victory over Wigan Warriors secured the League Leaders Shield. They are now just two games away from joining Bradford Bulls, who completed the treble back in 2017.
Goldthorp has continued to grow into her role this year, adapting more in the centre, rather than the wing when Leeds won a League and Cup double in 2019. She has scored 20 tries this season.
Finally, Rhiannon Marshall and Sinead Peach were two of a number of key players that moved from Castleford Tigers to York City Knights in 2021. They have the North Yorkshire side competing at a high level. They got to the Challenge Cup Final, and now have a one-in-four chance of lifting the Super League trophy.
