Barrow Raiders have announced the signing of forward Danny Langtree from Oldham for the 2022 season.
The 30-year-old will bring experience to the Raiders, having spent 10 seasons at Oldham, as well as a brief spell with Hull FC in the Super League. He is also a St Helens academy graduate.
Reacting to the news, Langtree said: “As soon as I spoke to Andy Gaffney (player director) he told me about his plans and the team he’s getting ready for 2022. I’m looking forward to being a part of what should be good times ahead.
“As well as speaking to Andy and liking everything he was saying about the club and what the plans are, I spoke to a few of the lads like Carl Forster and Jamie Dallimore and they had nothing but good things to say about the club, so they played a big part in my decision as well.
“I’ve been told nothing but good things about the club, coaches and everyone at the club, so I’m looking forward to getting started. I just want to play as much rugby as I can and hopefully help Barrow finish as high as we can in the league next season.”
Barrow Head Coach Paul Crarey added: “When Danny became available we jumped at the chance to sign him.
“He can play back-row or middle and is very strong in both attack and defence and is very experienced in the Championship. He has a great work ethic and attitude and will be a great addition to the squad.”
