Kells win top four playoff final

Kells have claimed another trophy after claiming the Iggesund Cumberland Division One top four playoff after a 22-8 win over Maryport in Egremont.

The Red and Whites did not have it all their own way as Maryport went into an 8-0 lead after just 12 minutes.

But from there, it was all Kells as two tries from Clarke Chambers and other efforts from Dan Starkie and Harry Watson sealed a second trophy of the season.

Having already been crowned as the League leaders, Kells can now add the playoff title to their collection this season.

As for Maryport, they have had a very good season, and could well be sure to go again in 2020.
